Talk of a secret Ronaldo wedding date has cooled sharply after the football star’s own sister stepped in to set the record straight. Katia Aveiro told Portuguese magazine TV7 Dias that no ceremony is planned this year, pushing back hard against weeks of online speculation about a possible marriage to longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez.

“There is no date set. This year I won’t be wearing a wedding dress, not for myself and not for him,” Aveiro said, effectively closing the door on rumours that had been building since the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The frenzy took off after fans revisited comments Ronaldo made in a late-2025 interview with Piers Morgan, where he confirmed he had already proposed to Rodriguez after a decade together. He described the moment his daughters watched him take the ring from a friend and asked if he was going to propose to their mother. Ronaldo added at the time that a wedding would follow “after the World Cup, with the champion’s trophy,” a plan that lost momentum once Portugal exited the tournament in the last 16.

That didn’t stop the internet from filling in the blanks. Reports pointed to the August 1-2 weekend as a likely window, reasoning that Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr won’t begin its new season until mid-September. Possible venues floated in Portuguese media included Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, near where Ronaldo is building a new home in Cascais, alongside earlier claims tying the event to Madeira’s cathedral and a luxury hotel booking.

Things escalated further when Ronaldo posted a photo boarding his private jet with his children on July 28, which some fans read as evidence of a secret ceremony in the Balearic Islands. The trip later turned out to be nothing more than a family holiday in Palma de Mallorca. Even Brazilian singer Luan Santana got pulled into the story, with claims circulating that his open schedule that weekend hinted he’d been booked to perform.

For now, Aveiro’s comments appear to have taken the air out of the balloon, at least until the next Ronaldo wedding date rumour makes the rounds.
